You may see an error message like: "No such column 'Type' on entity 'Task'"

This message can appear even after reconnecting Salesforce, which understandably makes it confusing. The root cause is not the connection itself—your Salesforce is connected correctly.

This issue affects a small number of users, and we’re working on improving the clarity of the error message.

🛠 What’s Causing It?

The Sybill platform needs to access the "Type" field on the Task object in your Salesforce account. This is a default field in Salesforce and is necessary for our Deal Summaries to function correctly.

However, if the integration user (the Salesforce user account Sybill uses to read data) doesn’t have permission to access this field, we get an error when attempting to read it.

This is usually due to Field-Level Security (FLS) settings in Salesforce.

✅ How to Fix It

  1. Log in to Salesforce as a user with admin rights.

  2. Navigate to:

    • Setup → Object Manager → Task → Fields & Relationships

  3. Look for the field named "Type" (sometimes labeled “Task Type”).

  4. Check the Field-Level Security settings for the Sybill integration user or permission set.

  5. Make sure the “Visible” checkbox is enabled for the profiles or permission sets used by Sybill’s integration.

After adjusting the visibility settings, no further action should be needed—the error will resolve automatically the next time Sybill reads from Salesforce.

🆘 Still Seeing the Error?

If you've confirmed that the "Type" field is visible and the issue persists, please contact our support team with the name of your integration user and any relevant screenshots from Salesforce. We're happy to help!
